I am pleased to have been a fellow oarsman and later a friend to you both. Thank you both for your commitment and dedication to helping the boat club flourish, both during the good times, and the being bumped times. There are just a few people from my time at Cambridge who I would concede love the club more than I do, and I'm pleased that you are two of those people. | |

Luckily we found a great caterer who was a big help and was able to set up a kitchen in the weights room and one of the boat bays. We combined it with the boat naming earlier the same day and thus subsidised the costs. Every part of the boathouse and the entire fleet was cleaned, the decorations went up (NB the attempts to make the lights blue and gold), and on the previous Saturday Sophie and I had filled her car with alcohol from a French supermarket. I was so chuffed to walk into the boathouse and find it looking like this. | |
