Winners, beating Reading RC and Newcastle Uni
A somewhat better start in calmer conditions put us a length down on Reading and half a length down to Newcastle at 500m. In an exciting race we rowed through Newcastle by 1000m, then reeled in Reading to take the win by a canvas.
My main memory is of having to tell JPD to relax... but it was very exciting in that last 500m as we slowly moved into first place. I'd like to think it's becuse we dealt with the water - which was far rougher near the finish than the start - better than the other crews.
