Pike
Maker: | Janousek |
Made in: | 2007 |
Bought in: | Lent term, 2007 |
Named by: | Dan Darley (Captain 1997-8), 2007 |
Pike and Eel were bought along with a new Black Prince and Valkyrie as part of bulk purchase from Janousek in early 2007. They are named after one of the pubs on the River Cam, which, although now actually called the Penny Ferry, is still called the Pike and Eel by the majority of Cambridge rowers. Pike is the heavier-rated of the two sculls and is intended for use by men.
