A high profile head race upstream on the Charles River, Boston-Cambridge, Massachusetts USA
Our old boys club, "Black Prince Boat Club" organised a crew to enter, and enjoyed an entertaining, and fairly successful weekend. Queen's old boys, "Boars Head", also entered.

Attracting many town clubs and some college crews, the Autumn Head is a useful form guide for the upcoming University IVs

Light IV: 2nd of 3 Coxless IVs
1st men's IV: 4th college coxed IV
1st women's IV: 4th college coxed IV
2nd men's IV: 3rd of 7 lower college coxed IVs

University IVs

A knockout competition for Cambridge College IVs over 2800m (light IVs), 2000m (men's coxed IVs) or 1300m (women's coxed IVs)
For College senior crews, traditionally the most prestigious event of term, and the main focus of the first half of term for the better senior College crews

Light IV (Light IVs): Beat Jesus (15s) in the semi finals and vs LMBC scratched - clash with academic commitments in the final
1st men's IV (1st division): Lost to Christ's (3s) in the 1st round
1st women's IV (1st division): Beat Magdalene (3 lengths) in the 1st round and Lost to Peterhouse (4 lengths) in the 2nd round
2nd men's IV (2nd division): Raced 4 rounds: Lost to Christ's II (6s) in the semi finals
2nd women's IV (2nd division): Won by default vs Downing II (scratched) in the 1st round and Lost to St. Catharine's IV (2.5 lengths) in the 2nd round
3rd men's IV (2nd division): Lost to St. Catharine's II (17s) in the 1st round

Head of the River IVs
Sat 10th November
A processional head race over the University Boat Race Course for Fours and Quads
550 crews enter this national event. The top college IVs usually aim to join the likes of Olympic Gold medallists Matt Pinsent and James Cracknell in this presitigious race.

1st men's IV, wat for jpd (Senior3 IV+): 22nd of 79 S3 coxed IVs, 73rd of 165 men's coxed IVs, 257th overall
1st women's IV: 22nd of 62 WS3 coxed IVs, 2nd Cambridge College, 60th of 110 women's coxed IVs, 455th overall

Queens' Novice Ergo Competition

A 500m team ergo competition for Novice VIIIs
The first taste of competition for the new novice crews, virtually all the college boat clubs enter their novice crews in to this fun event.

1st men's novice VIII (1st division): 7th of 25 1st men's novice VIIIs
1st women's novice VIII (1st division): 3rd of 24 1st women's novice VIIIs
2nd men's novice VIII (1st division): 18th of 34 in 1st division, 3rd of 27 lower crews beating 9 1st VIIIs
2nd women's novice VIII (2nd division): 15th in the lower VIIIs division
3rd men's novice VIII (2nd division): 5th of 21 in 2nd division, Fastest 3rd VIII (by 0.1s over LMBC)

Cambridge Winter Head

A timed head race over 2300m, from the Motorway bridge to the Pike & Eel
For senior crews this is the final race preparation for Fairbairns and is a valuable form guide; for novice crews, a chance to try out racing before the upcoming Clare Novice Regatta. 180 college and other crews compete.

Cambridge Rowing Triathlon

A race lasting two hours comprising cycling, running and rowing
Whilst we entered a crew last year, being just the day after the boat club dinner it wasn't really on this time round; Black Prince (FaT old boys) entered a IV and did rather well....
