Well, in advance of the Boat Race we went out to test the water for our second race of the year. Despite a few last minute changes we still managed to boat two VIIIs due to a few kind souls agreeing to row at extremely short notice - many thanks to those guys.
On a fine day the rowing was solid, if not spectacular, and the crews ultimately finished 182nd and 379th. This put us in with Leander and Oxford Brooke's University as the only Clubs to finish in their starting position (1st, 2nd, and 182nd respectively). Needless to say this took great skill to judge the correct pace to row at, and one must resepct Leander for managing this feat year after year - though I think this is a lot easier if you start at the front.
