A 2600m timed head race for small boats (sculls, pairs and IVs)
Being right at the start of term, it is unusual to see many college entries in this event. We entered 4 men's training pairs.

A few college senior IVs generally travel to Bedford for this race practice, and generally perform well.

Cambridge Autumn Head

A 2600m timed head race on the Cam
Attracting many town clubs and some college crews, the Autumn Head is a useful form guide for the upcoming University IVs.

Light IV: 4th of 5 coxless IVs, 3rd of 4 college entries
Women's B IV: 5th of 10 women's IVs, 3rd of 7 college entries
3rd men's IV (Senior4 IV+): 8th of 11 S4 coxed IVs, 16th of 20 college coxed IVs
BPBC 1st men's IV (Senior3 IV+): They weren't beaten by any women. 5th of 7 in S3 4+, 17 of 24 college standard crews

A knockout competition for Cambridge College IVs over 2800m (light IVs), 2000m (men's coxed IVs) or 1300m (women's coxed IVs)
For College senior crews, the most prestigious event of term, and the main focus of the first half of term for the better senior College crews

Cambridge Winter Head

A 2600m timed headrace on the Cam
Open to all clubs, for colleges the Winter Head is useful race practice for the 'Fairbairns', and the first experience of racing for some of the novice crews.

1st women's VIII: 7th of about 14 or 15 women's college 1st VIIIs
2nd men's VIII, composite with BPBC: 23rd of 45 college men's VIIIs
1st men's novice VIII, Trial Crew: Fastest men's novice VIII
1st men's novice VIII: 6th or 7th fastest novice boat - crashed on Grassy with a broken rudder string
Women's novice VIII A: 4th of 8 women's novice times
2nd men's novice VIII, Trial crew: Beat 5 of 8 1st novice crews - some strengthened by senior rowers

A side-by-side knock out regatta for Cambridge College novice (beginner) VIIIs
With just a week before Novice Fairbairns, the Clare Novice's offer all important race practice and exciting side by side racing. Most college novice VIIIs enter.

1st men's novice VIII (1st division): Raced 5 rounds: Won (about 5 lengths) against First and Third B in the final
Women's novice VIII A (1st division): Raced 5 rounds: Lost (4 lengths) to LMBC in the final
2nd men's novice VIII (1st division): Raced 5 rounds: Lost (5 or 6 lengths) to First and Third in the final
Women's novice VIII B (2nd division): Won against Clare B in the 1st round and Lost to Selwyn C in the 2nd round
3rd men's novice VIII (2nd division): Raced 4 rounds: Won against Queens B (2 lengths) but disqualified in the semi finals
4th men's novice VIII (2nd division): Raced 3 rounds: Lost (2 lengths) to Clare B in the 2nd round
5th men's novice VIII (2nd division): Lost (easily) against Queens B in the 1st round

3rd men's novice VIII: 9th overall; 2nd to 1st & 3rd II in the 2nd VIIIs competition
