Robinson Head, Lent Term 2000

2nd men's VIII (2nd division)

Coxed by: Ros Liu

16th of 36 men's VIIIs
Time: 9:57
Our very inexperienced crew (containing 5 people who had noviced in Michaelmas term) had made great strides during the previous few weeks under the tutelage of Rich Dewire, amongst others. A good showing at Peterborough was followed by a respectable result in this race, finishing 16th overall. Although not the fittest or strongest crew, some hard training had enabled us to build a fairly stable platform and we carried this into the race. Rating around 30 we rowed solidly throughout and pushed hard for the finish, lifting the speed and rate whilst holding together our technique. Now if only I can avoid having my leg crushed playing football for Trinity against Jesus on Monday afternoon... (Flying)
