This video is pure class. "Maintain a rowing movement to increase your heart rate!".

"Maintain a rowing movement to increase your heart rate!".
"Get a good rate going to increase your heart rate."

Clearly the split is just a random number, and all that really matters is the rating.

Surely the first question has to be WHY Henry was randomly browsing through 'workoutsforwomen.com'

Here is how to use an indoor rower. Sit on the rowing machine rails. Place your feet in the foot holders and secure them with the nylon straps. Lean forward and grasp the pull handle at the end of the chain. Sit up tall with your knees bent up toward your chest. Now press with your feet as you straighten your legs and pull the handles toward your chest, and then allow the rower to move the pelvis forward, bending your knees back to start position.

oh my god

Surely they meant...

Sit on the long metal end and tie your feet in so they dont come out. Lean forward to get the handle and pull it back. Push it away quickly so you can do it again. Remember to set the dial to 10, otherwise using an indoor rower isnt good exercise or difficult

erm... this is erging for WOMEN, so it should be put the little lever on the side down as far as it will go ...

STEP 1: take it out of the box
STEP 2: get a big stong man to put it together
STEP 3: spend a day selecting an purchasing the correct colour-coordinated outfit to match the erg-thingy
STEP 4: ring all your friends and tell them you've got this rowing machine just like that fit guy off the telly
STEP 5: look at it for a few weeks feeling fit and powerful
STEP 6: get a big strong man to put it away in the loft for you
STEP 7: buy a treadmill

Hmmn? Surely the lever should be put up to ten? How else would it be possible to erg while not moving the handle? The complex action of pulling the hands in while you bend your legs, and then letting them out while you straighten them again just dosnt work unless theres some resistance there...

Unless you're some kind of erging pro of course.

At the gym I joined in December, there is loads of dust in the ergs so that on setting 10, the drag is around 105 (setting 1 I think for the boatclub ergs), so you have to put it up to 10 to feel any resistance at all

I'm interested to know exactly what a "Wokout for Women" is. Some kind of open air Chinese cookery perhaps?

I know why Mr Clouting found this website. If you search on google for "fit women video" this site comes up first. I wonder if he clicked "I'm feeling lucky" to get there?

ps. Sarah can vouch for the fact that I only figured this out just now while looking at the page henry suggested above.
