By any normal standard, having 1 outing before the race is a scratch crew.
For FaT W2, having a single outing with the same 8 rowers as the race makes this the most training we've done this year.
As a result of this massive training volume, we won our category. Let's ignore the fact that the only other boats in it were novices, we did really well by any metric.

Our race plan was to wind to 30 on the start, and then just stay there and this went pretty well. I managed to row quite technically in parts of the race, and with decent power in parts as well. They weren't the same parts, but that's something we can work on in the future.
It was the longest race of the year for W2, and we were definitely suffering but everyone pulled really well and it was a great row all round.

Winning our category was fun and so was overtaking other boats. Let's ignore that we overtook IVs/quads and only beat Novices...

At least it wasn't a totally scratch crew.

I never want to hear those splits again when racing at that pressure, in hindsight the conditions were not speedy.
