1st men's VIII, 1st division

2nd fastest college men's VIII
Time: 19:11
An ugly result indeed. Some of the deficit may be attributed to the brutal training schedule in the week leading up to the race, and the slightly less brutal drinking schedule the night before, but even so we're a long way from even being competitive.

The downstream leg wasn't too bad, maybe a little pedestrian, but we picked the boat up well at times. The upstream leg was a world of pain. We raced it quite well, keeping the rate over 30, and attacked the wind shadows. But the blades were flying all over the place and we must've lost too much length. (Tom C)

2nd men's VIII, 2nd division

Winners of C2, 10th fastest college men's VIII
Time: 20:18
Good solid race only hampered slightly by the wind. Beat everybody in our division comfortably, and also Peterhouse who we're chasing in bumps.

Woo pots! Me and Martin have them if you want them. (Lorry)
Finally I've won a pot! (And now have 5!) (Martin Y)
Was a very pleasing row given the godawful conditions and scratch crew. Martin and Richard in stern pair did a great job of keeping the rating solid, and the ex-novices in the bows did a great job of keeping up!

Big thanks to Seb for bankpartying too - it was great having someone keep an eye on our technique and rating, and this really optimized our time.

Result could have been anything, but very nice to come away with pots. Especially as last time I won this it was only a pennant. (Dan)

1st women's VIII, 1st division

2nd fastest college women's VIII
Time: 22:21
Building on our solid pieces in the Friday practice outing, we managed to row with length and consistent rhythm despite the bad conditions. The race downstream was uniformly solid, but the combination of fatigue and headwind briefly took the edge off our rowing in the third quarter of the second leg. Even so, we beat all the other women's crews in our division - the comedy start order meant we were within a length and a half of the "overbump". Jesus, rowing in an earlier division, posted a faster time, but we've definitely showed the opposition who to look out for this term. (Magnus)

Does that mean we get a pot too? (Charley)
Afraid not - pots were only awarded in categories with three or more entries. (BJ)
