As for the race, we concentrated on rhythm for the opening couple of minutes and were rewarded by settling into a great groove just before the Ye White Hart pub. This continued through to the end of the island from where we had to work on it a bit more, possibly because of starting to hit the wind, possibly because we were getting tired. We kep it chunky all the way though, including a Crabtree Reach which felt like it would never end, then took it up slightly past the boathouses to the end.
Can't believe I'm saying this, but the Boar's Head crew looked so young! Must be getting old...

It looked pretty good shooting Hammersmith bridge. Fastest Cambridge college crew is a good result, although we will need to work hard through the second half of term if we are to get good results later in the year; Clare were only a second behind us in the Head, who were beaten by Downing by three seconds in Uni fours who were then beaten by Jesus by 15 seconds in the final.

Fantastic row! Despite missing the train to London, we got there on time and a really great start set us nicely into race rhythm to overtake Exeter (Oxford) and Emma very quickly; then holding off Imperial and an unidentified crew who were 'going for pennants' for a good time before they overtook. Unfortunately not too much chance for Jenners to practice swearing at crews for us to overtake because we were started a long way behind a group, but we made up good water on them by the end. Some confusion over distances led to us taking the rating up with about 800m to go, but probably this was a good thing...
Finished second college boat; a minute ahead of BP, only a minute behind CUW, very pleased and very tired!
