Dunkeld & Birnam said: does this mean that said boat is still on the shelves and in use? Nope... it's in Hampshire in at least two pieces in a shed somewhere, possibly being slowly repaired (perhaps Lilie can confirm its exact state when she returns from Henley after beating Oxford again! touch wood, and all that)But if the argument was about whether such boats could have survived this long, I would say it would probably still be in use had it not met with a sticky end (of a barge).

Dunkeld & Birnam said: Ah, Fair Maid.... She wasn't.Am staggered that she was still on the shelves. She'd been dumped outside Catz boathouse since at least 2003 - possibly longer - gradually getting more and bigger holes.

Aha, I see. So does this mean that said boat is still on the shelves and in use? [Enquiry stems from a recent conversation in the Galapagos Islands with a former crewmate from a Karlisch crew....]

Simon said: Yes, it's that one. Given that the manufacturers don't exist anymore, it would have been very uneconomic. Think you might also have been looking for this. The previous time this happened I think it went to Tit Hall's boatman to be fixed. The tit hall boatman rebuilt the bows beautifully ready for the SuperGents in May term but it cost a fortune.

Erica said: I think this is the one that was crashed rather spectacularly into a barge opposite the boat house on a chilly morning about two years ago... it was deemed uneconomic to send it back to the manufacturers for repairs.
