surely the majority of the current club will be watching it from a seat in a boat? And additionally, the cox's seat, surely?

Bike on the towpath, more specifically the back seat of a tandem on the towpath, recording the action in glorious HD

From a 'watching' point of view the cox's seat is a pretty terrible place to be (you have to strain to see what's going on behind, and can't really see what's going on up ahead).

That said, it does have cool interactive features that put 'the red button' to shame.

Get about a foot taller, then the view is fine. If all else fails, stand up. (The latter is perhaps foolhardy at the chunky 44 W2 will be doing by lents)

You can do what mark did last year

(i still hold this is one of the most amazing Bumps photos ever!)

Why would you care what is going on behind you? Clearly the eight people in front of you are all that matters, and trusting what stroke tells you about pushing and when.

Sonya, that was an incredible feeling that race. Unfortunately in those situations of massive adrenaline the memory is patchy!

Obviously, if you were actually coxing, but if I were watching I might want to see.

Because you might get bumped? Do F1 cars have rear view mirrors?

More to the point, do they have brakes?

Depends if it's a Toyota or not...
