Head of the River Race
Sat 2nd April
A huge head race on the Tideway (tidal river Thames) over the University Boat Race course
The largest annual VIIIs head race in the country, attracting most rowing clubs and many University and College crews. The course is 4 1/2 miles, from Mortlake to Putney.

Putney Bridge to Kings Cross Tube Challenge
Sat 2nd April
After a discussion of the optimal tube journey from Putney Bridge to Kings Cross the best route was to be determined by a race, in which no running is allowed, using only tube lines, from Putney Bridge to Kings Cross
A commonly used route for returning from several of the big events, correct route planning is clearly essential.

Fairbairn Junior Sculls
Mon 25th April
A 2000m knock-out regatta in the 'chasing' format for single sculls

Julia Robson (women's): 1st in the final

Head of the Cam
Sat 30th April
A timed headrace on the Cam for college and town crews
Useful early term race practice and the first hint of form for the May Bumps.

Cambridge Head-2-Head
Sat 7th May
A timed headrace in two parts, length 2x2000m
Early May term race practice for many college crews.

Champion of the Thames Eights Head
Sun 22nd May
A Head race for eights from the Plough Pub to the Penny Ferry.
A fun head race with prizes for best bumps start, best line round Ditton - as well as for finish position.

Trophee des Rois
Sat 28th May
Racing at Chateau de Chantilly

1st women's VIII (1st division): 5th in the qualifying and 3rd overall in the plate final

Cambridge 99's Regatta
Sun 29th May
A side by side knock out regatta along the reach over 1000m
A fun summer regatta for college VIIIs. Unfortunately not all that many crews are able to enter, though, because of exam pressures!

1st men's VIII (1st division): Raced 3 rounds: Won by 1/3 Length from Magdalene in the plate final
2nd men's VIII (1st division): Beat Emmanuel (Scratched) in the quarter finals and Lost to St Catherines I/Homerton by a long way in the semi finals
3rd men's VIII (3rd division): Lost to Corpus Christi M1 in the quarter finals and Beat LMBC M3 in the plate final

Régates en Seine
Sun 29th May
A knock out regatta mainly for Paris universities over a c.500m course by the Eiffel Tower

1st women's VIII (1st division): lost by 2m in the quarter finals

Metropolitan Regatta
Sun 5th June
Two day, 2000m multilane regatta held at Dorney Lake. Each day is self contained.

1st men's VIII (IM2 8+, Sunday): 3rd by a canvas from 2nd in the heats and in the repêchage
1st men's VIII (IM3 VIIIs): 2nd in the heats and 4th in the final
2nd men's VIII (IM3 VIIIs): 4th of 5 in Heat in the qualifying and 5th in the repêchage

Lowe Alpine Mountain Marathon
Sat 11th - Sun 12th June
A 2-day mountain marathon in the Scottish Highlands

May Bumps
Wed 15th - Sat 18th June
The famous Cambridge University May Bumps on the River Cam
The highlight of the college rowing calendar involving a total of over 1500 students - with 81 competitors from Trinity

FaT vs BPBC Cricket Challenge
Sun 26th June
The annual cricket match between First and Third and BPBC, staged at Old Field.
A 30-over challenge match between FaT and club old boys, Black Prince Boat Club.
