1st men's VIII, 1st division

Fastest crew
Time: 8:33
Yeah buddy... (M-C. Chung)
Controversially, they put LMBC in front us in the draw. So our plan was to set off as close as possible behind and overtake. We didn't do a very good job of it. At one point we were almost on their stern but there wasn't much of a wind to the finish and we fell back a bit.
The other crews in range benefited heavily from a lesser stream in later divisions, but even so this ain't good enough. (Tom C)

2nd men's VIII, 2nd division

9th overall, 3rd 2nd VIII
Time: 9:13
We crashed into the outside of Grassy, that just about says it all.

Still beat a lot of crews though including the ones around us in Bumps such as Caius M2 (by 12 seconds)

And CCAT M2 wasn't CCAT M2 considering they beat CCAT M1 by 36 seconds.

Slightly worrying is the fact that Christ's M1 (the crew behind us in Mays beat us by 35 seconds) (S.C. Mertes)

The Gentlemen, 2nd division

23rd overall, 2nd Men's 3rd VIII
Time: 9:51
Considering we were a scratch crew who had never had an outing before and we had an imposter in the 7 seat, this wasn't a bad row. Things went a bit astray at the bottom of the Reach when we all realised how far there was left, but we didn't give up and kept it going to the end. We were 35s faster than Peterhouse M2 (1 ahead of us in Bumps) today. In two weeks we will be 1 minute faster. (S.C. Mertes)

1st women's VIII, 1st division

2nd
Time: 9:58
Well we weren't expecting to be 18s behind Emma. The attitude and the row were both confident throughout the race. There were good parts where it clicked, we had cover and were moving well. We lost it a bit coming past the boys crew, but that doesn't explain away 18s. So disappointing, but it'll give us some motivation to keep the pressure on and build up to Pembroke regatta. (Harriet)
Really strong committed row - tidy and powerful. So we weren't expecting Emma to beat us, but as Harrie says - this is just something to push you to push on. Bring on Pembroke Regatta and bumps baby! (Lyns)

2nd women's VIII, Lower VIIIs

Fastest 2nd VIII
Time: 10:52
Well done! You looked fit crossing the finish, and you definitely deserve this. Make the next week count, and hopefully there'll be more prizes on Saturday. (Harriet)
We have a trophy!! I've never won any races before so I'm so proud of everyone that rowed today! We even beat some 1st boats! No free t-shirts, even though a Robinson official said we would get them if we won our division :(

Still, bring on Bumps! (Liz)
Wooooooo! Congrats girls! Excellent aggression, excellent commitment. In particular the row up to the reach was looking very technically strong and you had some really good bursts. Really build on this for bumps - blades for you girls!!!

Congrats again (from the politest bank party of the day!) (Lyns)
GET IN!
the first half of the race up until the reach was awesome - apparently we were rating around 30 but it felt so relaxed and the boat was really moving along nicely. the reach presented some wobbly moments and we weren't really clearing the puddles. still, we finished quite strongly and i can't quite believe we managed to win! gutted that we don't get our free t-shirts :( and hopefully we won't ever meet strange worm-fisherman-person again. he was odd.

special thanks to danny, hannah, olivia and louise for subbing! (Kristina)
