Mich Term 2005

3rd men's IV

Cambridge Autumn Head (Lower College IV+)

5th of 6 lower college IV+, 66th overall
Time: 11:41
A good solid row for what was a scratch crew in our first race of the term. Kept it strong for the most part, though we paid the price and faded a bit in the last 500m. Bodes well for the rest of the term :) (Sam)

University IVs (2nd division)

Quarter finals
beat LMBC (Willison) (13s)
Having destroyed LMBC Bailey at Autumn Head by a massive two seconds, we fancied our chances of getting the win today. Even on the row up the omens were good, with some of the best paddling we've done as a crew... wonder if that has anything to do with me not rushing up the slide for a change? :p Anyways...

The start was pretty good, gaining ground immediately, and we managed to settle into a good rhythm which we were able to sustain until near the end. Not entirely sure if the planned second start really materialised, but then again don't remember much through the pain. Full marks to Honey for some good cornering and being able to make herself heard over all the noise without a working cox box. It was a nice feeling being able to hear the Maggie cox get noticeably louder as we closed down on them ;) (Sam)
Semi finals
lost to Christs II (27s)
A windy day which made lining up for the start a real pain, espcecially when Christs' failed to hear the "GO!" and we had to line up again. We got off to a decent start and held them at bay for a fair bit, but a mini-crab as we got about half way allowed them to close down a bit. Despite recovering reasonably well, we just weren't able to hold them off and ultimately the better crew won.

Thanks to Rob Patterson for subbing. (Sam)
