Beginning of term race practice for many college crews and the first form guide of the term.

A timed head race over 2200 - from Little Bridge to Peter's Posts
The last timed head race on the Cam before Lents - and a useful form guide with many college boats competing.

2nd women's VIII: 11th W1 crew

3rd men's VIII (Lower VIIIs): Joint 10th in Lower VIIIs

An important regional 5000m timed head race
Several of the top college crews travel to race at Peterborough, for this invariably unpleasant but key race in preparation for the bumps.

1st men's VIII (Senior3 VIIIs): 2nd in S3, 7th overall

Pembroke Regatta
Sat 14th February
A side-by-side knock out regatta on the reach, over 1100m
An event for college crews run in 3 divisions. For many crews, the last race practice before the bumps, and a popular event.

2nd men's VIII (2nd VIIIs): Raced 3 rounds: Lost to Jesus II by 1/4 length in the semi finals

3rd men's VIII:

4th men's VIII, 4th Lent VIII (with subs at 2, 5 and cox) (College lower VIIIs): Raced 3 rounds: Scratched due to lack of cox in the semi finals

Lent Bumps Getting-on Race
Fri 20th February
The 2000m qualifying race for the Lent Bumps
The Lent Bumps are the focus of the term for college rowing, but only those boats finishing higher than 10th from the bottom of last year's races are automatically entered. All other crews must compete for the 10 places available.

2nd women's VIII: Rowed on

5th men's VIII: 7th = of 12 non-qualifiers

The famous Cambridge University Bumps on the River Cam
The focus of the year so far. The Lent Bumps are smaller and less prestigious than the May Bumps, but nevertheless involve 69 men's and 52 women's crews.

Women's Head of the River Race
Sat 6th March
The Women's Eights Head, on the Tideway in London.
The largest women's only race in the country, raced in early March over the Championship Course - 4 1/4 miles, with the stream, from Mortlake to Putney.

1st women's VIII (Senior3 VIIIs): 115th overall, 8th Cambridge college crew

2nd Trinity Challenge Sculls
Tue 9th March
A timed single sculling race over a course from Little Bridge to Peter's Posts, run by First and Third.
This is an historic event, but recently has been run since only 1999. It is aimed at college scullers of all standards, even featuring a comedy 'clinker sculls' class.

Cardinal's Regatta

A fun post bumps regatta for mixed crews, with head starts for crews in fancy dress and widescale bribery of marshalls and race officials...!

FaT CATERPILLAR (Fancy Dress): Raced 4 rounds: convincing in the final

Head of the River Race
Sat 20th March
A huge head race on the Tideway (tidal river Thames) over the University Boat Race course
The largest annual VIIIs head race in the country, attracting most rowing clubs and many University and College crews. The course is 4 1/2 miles, from Mortlake to Putney.
