1st & 3rd / Newnham Composite, Elite IV-

Final
2nd of 3
Time: 8:25.07
This crew were by far the lightest and smallest crew in the event and would have entered lightweights had there been the opportunity. Naturally, a strong cross-wind was not in their favour! Nevertheless, they rowed admirably, coming in second place and achieving the best 500m split of the entire event in the third quarter (1:51).

All in all, it was an extremely profitable day, with all crews gaining some valuable race experience in appauling conditions. Poplar seems to have whetted everyone's appetite and encouraged us to raise our game. (Alex)

1st & 3rd / Newnham Composite, Senior3 IV+

Final
3rd of 6
Time: 8:42.98
A bad start hampered this crew but some impressive rowing saw them row through half of the field, including two home clubs, to take the bronze medal. (Alex)

2nd women's IV, Novice IV+

Final
2nd to St Pauls School
Time: 9:19.28
This was the first race off Cam for most of this crew and they faced up to multi-lane racing in difficult conditions really well. In a tough race with a strong St. Paul's crew, they acquitted themselves admirably, striking an excellent rhythm, but were denied a medal. (Alex)
