Leviathan is a coastal IV, designed for rowing on the ocean. It was bought as a training aid for novices and lower boats, but was called into competitive action earlier than expected for the Cambridge Channel Challenge in 2005, where it came second to a crew from LMBC, who organised the race. It is probably still the unique coastal IV in common usage on the Cam (not known for its rough conditions!).
