KRISTINA OOI FOR KSS

Who are you?

Medically-inclined, stash-obsessed boatie. Noviced this year and rowed in the (history-making, woop woop) 3rd Lent VIII 2007. According to the JT, I also have the funniest surname in the boat club. I do not contest this fact.

Why do you row?

To show off my massive rowing muscles and my ability to do a 2K erg in 17 seconds flat. It also gives me an excuse to glide around in college in lovely blue and gold stash and own a piece of clothing with the word "arse" written on it.

How would you sort out kit for the club?

The current KSS informed me that there should be a new way to order kit next year called the "Online Team Room". It will make stash orders a lot easier for everyone, and you would be able to pay online with a debit/credit card instead of writing cheques. Of course, this would be done termly and well in advance of Bumps, so every boat can go out dressed head to toe in the finest cat-and-bunned kit and scare the opposition. Together with the Captain, I would also continue negotiating lots of free JP Morgan branded stash. Everyone on the river will be ridiculously jealous that they don't look as hot as us. Red is sooo last season.

How would you make sure I have a social life?

Nay fear, grasshopper, I would sort out many activities to nurture lots of boatie love:

  1. All the traditional events, like the post-dinner WPR bops (with so much cheese even the Cindies DJ will be jealous), freshers' drinks and BBQ, formal swappage with other boat clubs, and the fireworks party atbh
  2. An "icebreaker" event in the BA Room towards the start of Mich Term so that novices can get to know the seniors early on, thus breaking down the walls of social division that are holding them back from true love and harmony. Fuelled by fun games (like that suck-the-box-off-the-ground one) and lots of alcohol.
  3. Termly Club Formal Hall, to increase club unity (and add to the incest chart)
  4. Punting and a garden party in May Week to celebrate the end of icky exams (and start of BUMPS!)
  5. Activities during training camp weeks (Curry King, cinema trips, pub meets) to occupy those few hours when you're not in a boat/furiously erging/circuiting
  6. Anything else suggested by club members - iceskating/paintballing??

Why should I vote for you?

All of this will require good organisation and time management, both of which I have been forced to develop as a result of juggling outings with a silly medic timetable. I like working with people (especially nice boatie people) and am like Malibu (seriously easy going), so I would be able to liaise well with other committee members to get everything done. I would make sure that 1st & 3rd remains the most beautiful club both on and off the water, so that you can all pose around college in your finest stash with pride. BECAUSE YOU'RE WORTH IT!
