2004 - 2005 Manifestos

Mark Sankey - Secretary

I will work with the Captain and Committee to help the whole club be successful and enjoyable off as well as on the water.

If elected, I intend to continue the excellent work that has been carried out by the secretaries of the previous two years, Paul Whiting and Andrew Lea-Cox. I have been an active club member for close to four years, novicing in my first term in Cambridge, and have thoroughly enjoyed and benefited from my membership.

Paul discovered that the boat club Secretary's account was in debt and worked hard to rectify the situation; Andrew furthered his work and I believe the club's accounts are now in good order. I will build on this foundation and intend to learn and use the double-entry accounting system to the level required. I am communication with both Paul and Andrew and will seek their advice whenever necessary.

I will seek to submit race entries as early as possible, subject to receiving entry details from the appropriate captains.

I will arrange a club dinner at the end of each term. Based on the success of last year's dinners, I hope to have as venues for these - subject to approval from College - the Boathouse (Michaelmas Term), the Old Kitchens (Lent Term), and Nevile's Court Cloisters (Easter Term). I will strive to keep the costs as low as possible for members.
