Think of a 2-digit number; 10x + y where x lies between 1 and 9 inclusive, y lies between 0 and 9 inclusive. Add the digits together; x+y Subtract this from the original 2-digit number; The remaining amount = 10x+y - (x+y) = 9x So the only ones which it's possible to get is 9,18,27,36,45,54,63,72 or 81. You'll notice that all of these values have the same symbol in the list on the right.......... | |||

What I hadn't noticed was that it reassigns the symbols each time.Just wondering - can anyone in the club do any Derren Brown style tricks? Now that would make a good Magpie and Stump... |
