1st men's novice VIII, Division 1

1st round
Lost to Clare NM1
After the race, Neil Talbott asked the crew "Is there anyone who did not catch a crab in that race?"

(D. Lee)
Can confirm Alex Partridge (Stroke) did not crab in this race. (B.A. Clent)
2nd round
Lost to Wolfson NM1
FaT made a stronger start than Wolfson and were a length ahead at the 150m mark however some synchronised crabs led to them losing by a length in the end. One crab lasted 13 strokes... (B.A. Clent)

2nd women's novice VIII, Division 2

1st round
Lost to Sidney Sussex NW2
Our first race together. A crab caused us to shift to the other side of the river. After recovery, the strokes were really powerful and from the cox's seat we are drawing towards Sidney quickly. Good experience in terms of handling crabs and a hold-it-up during the race. (R. Qiao)
2nd round
Beat Lucy Cavendish NW2
The crew recovered quickly from the previous race and made very powerful strokes even though it was cold and they were tired. The gap between Lucy and us had been quite small but the crew really persevered until the finish and won the race. Well done! (R. Qiao)

3rd men's novice VIII, M3/W3 Division

1st round
Lost to Trinity Hall NM2
Trinity Hall NM2 were about twice the size of our NM3, which led them to have a stronger start. But we stayed technically superior and held them/moved on them for the first half of the race. Just as I thought we actually had a chance, racing nerves from behind for so long finally kicked in and our rowing started to fall apart. In a side-by-side race between two crews who were rowing badly, the bigger crew prevailed. They went on to win the division. (D. Lee)
2nd round
Beat Robinson NM2
We moved off the start, were a few lengths up by halfway, and wound it down before the finish. An Emmanual coach complimented the standard of rowing as I cycled back. (D. Lee)
