A 2600m head race upstream, from the A14 road bridge to the top finish at Chesterton footbridge.

Very spacky, overtaken around grassy by the crew behind us. We were never going to be fast rating low, but it could have been a nicer low rate piece. Just about held off the crew starting 2 places behind us. We did maintain length though and this is something I felt the second piece lacked.

This didn't feel too bad. Conditions may have been worse and Jeff and I had already rowed the course so weren't quite as fresh. But we were slower than our other crew despite being two pips higher and in races where all that matters is the time you achieve that is a poor result. I guess we will need to focus on more power and really lifting the boat in future.
