Clare Novice Regatta (1st division)

1st round
Beat LMBC B (1 length)
A very good row saw the 1st and 3rd girls pull away from the LMBC crew from the start and extend the lead all the way to the finish, to beat maggie by just over a length -- well done girls! (H. Adams)
2nd round
Beat Girton A by several lengths
A fantastic row by the 1st and 3rd crew left Girton struggling to stay in the race right from the start and left them several lengths behind at the finish. (H. Adams)
Quarter finals
Beat Homerton A by several lengths
The 1st and 3rd crew continued their series of decisive wins by pulling away from Homerton up the reach, to win by several lengths yet again! (H. Adams)
Semi finals
Lost to Queens A
Another very good race from the 1st and 3rd crew, but unfortunately Queens managed to edge away and take the race by less than a length. (H. Adams)

Novice Fairbairn Cup

10th women's VIII
Time: 11:59
The race got off to a fantastic start (despite Neil's attempts to drown bow!) with a highly motivated crew quickly building up power and settling into a good rhythm. Corners were well controlled by Kirsten's calls and the efforts of 2 and 4. Unfortunately the rating dropped off a little in the last third of the race and the rowing began to lack aggression. As a result there was never really a satisfactory push for the finish. Overall however it was quite a nice race and a good effort from the whole crew. (Abbie)
