Things may (hopefully not!) go awry today - have had to make a few small changes to cope with the removal of crews. Hopefully the format, especially on the WAP pages, makes some sense... Fingers crossed it'll all still work! ;-)

Really sorry to the 6th boat for the results mistake... JPD phoned me to say it all looked wrong - but it sounded like my computer program for drawing the bumps charts had gone wrong. As it happens I just made a mistake entering the result.... anyway, is all well now. All the best for tomorrow!!! :-)

And so another Bumps season draws to a close... Thank you to everyone who helped make our Mays coverage such a success, including everyone who recommended or linked to it (which included David Bilddulph's rowing calendar and Rachel Quarrell's rowing service), everyone who wrote about their races (23 people!), and the 6 other people who have taken and/or submitted pictures so far (especially Henry and Richard). It takes time and effort to contribute but is very much appreciated. The instant updates were a success - surviving a few minor glitches due to crews being taken off and some minor delays due to my attempts to take pictures as well! In terms of pages viewed, the site was slightly less busy than in the Lents (106,000 page requests in the week compared with 114,000 in March), presumably on account of the improved CUR coverage, problems with the University PWF computers and the fact that more people were able to get out and actually watch. Having said that, our server shifted over 3 times as much stuff - 3.2 gigabytes compared with 1 gigabyte in the week - because of the pictures and larger numbers of boats. There were 1,100 requests for pages from mobile phones. |
