The men's and the women's 1st coxed IVs both came 4th in the college IVs events in the Cambridge Autumn Head on Saturday. The 2nd IVs also performed creditably, placing in the middle of their events. Meanwhile the renegade Coxless IV proved yet again that training, outings and coaching do actually help - or perhaps just that coxes are worth their weight, after crashing on the reach!
Special mention should also be made of our men's novice crew (crew and results to follow shortly) who not only completed the course but beat plenty of crews too.

JPD and I are in agreement that Trinity Hall's winning WIUB must surely be a mistake, perhaps a men's crew? The time is fairly implausible....
That would put us 3rd behind Caius and Peterhouse.

Logic (copied from CUCBC):
The Tit Hall one was obvious - they had two WIUB 4+ Crew 'A's, and a (men's) IUB 4+ Crew 'B' but no Crew 'A' (at least in the start order, although I don't think Crew 'B' raced). The "winning" WIUB 4+ (#24) was also started with the other (men's) IUB 4+ in that division, with other WIUB 4+es (e.g. #43 for the "other" Crew 'A') much further down.

The men's novice VIII are now included on the Autumn Head page - thanks to Dan for the information about the crew and some pictures. |
