Not our best row ever. They had a lot of anger after yesterday and we didn't seem to gain enough on CCAT at the start to make a convincing push. All credit to Magdalene, they had a good row and had overlap just after Ditton before bumping us about half way up the reach. Today they were good, tomorrow though we're bloody eager to show that we're better.
Bring It On.

After a decent start we settled into our rhythm a lot faster than yesterday and were hungry to bump Magdalene back. However, Robinson didn't keep Magdalene occuppied after 1st post and we were going for the overbump with Darwin chasing us. They looked close round the corners (everyone always does to me though) but we made ground in the Plough Reach. We came into our own in the Reach where we had failed to yesterday and took a couple of lengths off CCAT. Darwin held distance pretty much all the way but were never within more than a couple of lengths (all distances are purely from a knackered 2 girl perspective and therefore dodgy).
Tomorrow we intend to end on a high and use some of the agression we had today to find a bump on Robinson tomorrow. A fantastic row which showed total class. As before - Bring It On.

The Light IV's unfortunate incident could have been the reason that the Men's 1st 4+ managed to get a better time than the 4- by 5 seconds. I bank partied them and thought they were looking good. They held it well at the end and, although they were overtaken near Grassy by a Christs crew they managed to regain their place and by the end Christs were left trailing in their wake by at least 4 lengths if not more.

The men's light 4- in division 1 had a decent race but it would have been significantly better if they hadn't crashed into the bank at the Railway Bridge. Apparently Mr Fisher (their bank party) was overcome by Will's ability to steer to the point that he forgot to tell them not to crash.

The men's 2nd 4+ went OK despite not having a cox until Saturday morning. The ever charming Mr Thorne stepped in and saved the day, coxing them through what was, I am told, a respectable performance.

The men's 3rd 4+ didn't have the best of days. They didn't have a bow man so had to postpone til the 4th division when Mr Harboe was able come down and rescue them. They crashed, were overtaken and did look a bit tired by the end however, they were still keeping in time well.

The Women's 1st 4+ did well and, according to their bank party were looking good. They seemed to have had a good race. Their time was 13.20 and their cox must have been good as she was snapped up by a Southampton ARC crew who had got to Cambridge but found they had no cox. Most unfortunate. Mr Glass captured their magnificent row on camera I believe.

The Women's 2nd 4+ had a good race made more interesting by the presence of their fairly unorthodox cox, Mr Graham Fisher. They held off a Magdalene crew (not sure which one) and finished the race rating 36. They were all shattered by the end, particularly the uncommonly short one sitting at 3.

Just to say that to come 10th overall is a huge improvement on last year and I'm so pleased that we managed to deliver where we've not managed to for a while.
Well done everyone.
