The race got off to a fantastic start (despite Neil's attempts to drown bow!) with a highly motivated crew quickly building up power and settling into a good rhythm. Corners were well controlled by Kirsten's calls and the efforts of 2 and 4. Unfortunately the rating dropped off a little in the last third of the race and the rowing began to lack aggression. As a result there was never really a satisfactory push for the finish. Overall however it was quite a nice race and a good effort from the whole crew.

A rather less good start, but still considerably better than Disney (whose cox managed to forget her lifejacket.....). With no boat within miles of our stern, we held a solid girton at station until the plough, but never really committed 100% to catching them and lacked yesterday's impressive determination. The reach at technical half pressure however, will set us up nicely for a storming row tomorrow. Bring it on....

Such an awesome and well deserved result for a fantastic crew!
Newnham were simply out-classed, although even if they had got LMBC, this crew were more than capable of an(other) overbump on Jesus!
SO well done! xxxx xxxx

I totally hold the record - 8 shots of tequila in 2002 when the rest of my lovely crew agreed to drink my beer between them if I did each of their tequilas...I stupidly agreed....
