We were starting of behind Emma III, who had been bumped by CCAT II yesterday, and in front of Sidney III who we rowed over with yesterday. We made a good start, settling in to a race rhythm much earlier than the day before. Sidney didn't manage to get as close to us as yesterday, and were bumped by Caius IV, close to the motorway bridge.
Emma made a better start that when we chased them on Tuesday. We gained on them slightly down first post reach, but they proved themselves the faster crew finishing about 4 lengths ahead of us.

Just like Ed said... 6 strokes start, 10 wind and we had overlap. Didn't bother surging, pushed instead and they acknowledged a few seconds later!

Once again Kings crashed just ahead of us - they really should learn to get round 1st post corner, and this time they couldn't claim to be impeded... we rowed past, were awarded the bump and pulled in.

The comedy was when Christs II (who were no where near the overlap they claim, until we held it up) decided that they'd also stop. Jesus II then happily rowed past and were awarded the bump against Christs. Ordinarily I'd feel sorry for Christs, but after all the fuss they threw up over yesterday, I think they could be thought to deserve it.

An amazing race... The second boat were being chased by a strong Wolfson I who managed about 8 feet overlap around Morley's Holt, but failed to make the bump, blowing up a few moments later and being bumped themselves as our boat pulled away to comfortably row over.

Well we bumped something... unfortunately it was grassy corner, and not Catz III who were roughly 1/2 length in front of us at the time. With us parked on the bank Trinity Hall III easily caught up (had been roughly holding station before) though failed to notice our acknowledgement leading to a bent rudder for us, and a snapped blade for them!
