Unfortunate. Nothing more to say really. We were clearly the strongest boat in the group surrounding us and we should have bumped Clare easily had we not had problems as we had already moved to only a length apart with our first five strokes. However, obviously it just wasn't to be today. We'll prove ourselves tomorrow.

AWESOME ROW GIRLS!!! That really was an amazing row, especially considering we had a different cox and 2 subs rowing, we were rowing in Margot - which most people hadn't rowed in before - and were abandoned with no bank party or coach. As a crew, your lack of outings didn't let you down, you really got it together so well during the row down and the race. Seriously girls, an excellent row, it felt so good in regard to power, rhythm and balance. I just hope we got a time to reflect that!!!

P.S - Also, that row up and the race was the most fun I've had rowing for ages!!!!! We need chocolate and drunken Sorcha stories more often...

BUMP! Woop! Need to be a little tidier tomorrow tho I think, wasn't as good a start as it could have been. Still, did the job!! xxx

Argh. Painful. However, a good gutsy row - showed Mag2 they weren't going to have us! Shame CCAT weren't a little better... would have been so much easier...
On for the bump tomorrow - as Harrie says, let's do it in 5 strokes... maybe less if Clare Hall try another antiphase start... xxx

Special thanks to Jo - our last minute sub - fantastic row hun! Mwah! xxx

Class girls, absolute class. We gained the length we needed to bump them after the motorway bridge quickly, bumping them just before the corner, while they couldn't close the quarter of a length they'd held on Tit Hall since the motorway bridge. Mahahaha!

Look ahead now... Friday, we get Tit Hall!!

So amazingly proud of all of you. Absolute legends girls. Was so so so impressed with all of your rowing - and you blew me away with the performances you put in. You made my week girls, made my week.

Closer than we thought it would be. Down to the penultimate hole... T-shirts obviously weren't quite good enough... damn

Bit wobbly. But not as wobbly as my cycle back.

Maybe drinking at 11am after racing wasn't the best time to test my ale tolerance.

OH MY GOD. SO SO SO PROUD! I knew you guys could do it, and even though I was banned from banking you guys (grrrr), I was yelling you on from the inside!
Go out there on Tues, row like you did today and do well. I get to talk all about you in my speech at the dinner so I want bumps galore!!!! Woooooooooooooo!

Shame, but you lost to the eventual winners who absolutely whipped the other finalists by about 5 lengths or something amusing. Good rowing and commitment today, but still plenty to work on. Don't lose that drive and keep the feeling of winning in your mind, and use it in next week's training so that you can get on next Fri and show everyone else just how amazing FaT W3 are.

After the first win, I knew you'd want another - but it would be harder against Emma. Still, you did it. Absolutely awesome work girls.

I was so so so so so so so so excited by this - I knew you could do it, but it was whether you guys had the faith in yourselves and wanted it enough...and YOU DID!!!! Yay!

A real shame. Still, we know we have some more work to do, and we have the time to do it.

I think it was on the way up to this one that we got the comments 'Oooo who's that?? - They look relatively well sat'. Made me smile. As did the result of this one. Needed to be a little stronger mentally as we went under the bridge, but otherwise good.

Good start, and a nice rhythm. Much closer to what we should be looking for.

Muuuuuuuuuuch better! That's your corrected time, coming third overall in your category. Good time for a scratch crew - well done!

I think we can be fair and say that the row down didn't seem like the race was going to be amazing (as Sarah illustrated well by whispering 'I might just stick to 6's' on the way down). However, as we wound up to 28, where we sat comfortably, it felt a lot better and we even managed to sit it for the majority of the time. Not a bad result considering this is the first time nearly half the boat had been in a racing shell. So yea, chuffed! Tho I didn't get wine or mince pies cause of IV's racing and work... :(

There was just a little bit of confusion about the ordering of 'Stroke side out' and 'Bow side blades out'...

Well done girls. Considering you didn't know your crew order before the race (...) I was most impressed with how this row went. A few slips in rhythm were quickly corrected and a good time was achieved! I hope you have all enjoyed this term, and hope to see you all back next term!

I was surprised about how well you guys were working together. Since very little work has been done in complete crews, and especially this week VIII's outings have been lacking somewhat, I didn't know how well you would cope under race presure. However, I need not have worried! Congratuations girls, a very strong result. I hope you are proud. Let's see you all next term for bumps!

Very impressed girls. Good focus, good timing and obviously putting power down in the water. Congratuations. Now...to show the seniors what you can do today - and come back next term to bump!

Event: Clare Novice Regatta 2006 - Cup

Unfortunate. The whole way through the main part of the race you girls didn't drop any time to them at all. However, the fact they had a strong start meant the length or so they gained off that was enough for them to carry on through and take the win. Still, a very tidy strong row - Fairbairns all the way...!

Stunning row guys. I was watching you the whole time, and I really thought you were going to push through. The opposition were fading, and even lost a seat...however, the crab (at almost the same time as they lost their seat) meant a loss by the smallest of margins. Th epick up to the finish was impressive tho. I see you guys doing very well in Fairbairns and was pleased to see how well you guys kept working together the whole way especially as the crew was so close to you the whole time. A weaker crew would have lost that race a lot earlier

Scratched due to an incomplete crew. Shame, let's kick some ass in Fairbairns tho girls!

Wicked girls, absolutely wicked. Watched from the balcony and you all looked completely knackered after your sets!!!! Fantastic effort. Make sure you translate all that into the water and we'll be sure to beat all the other novices there!!! Excellent work from everyone and I hope you had a good night - I know I did!

Go FAT!

Absolutely amazing girls. As Amy said, 7th into the final and 3rd out of it. You all made that difference. Huge commitment from everyone. Special congrats to Julijana who took 8 SECONDS off her previous time in the final. Awesome work. So proud of you guys - now, on to the water... can you beat all the other novices there too....?!?!?!?

P.s - Corrinne's was def all time Qergs record - and I reckon that's going to stand for a while...

Wooooooo! Congrats girls! Excellent aggression, excellent commitment. In particular the row up to the reach was looking very technically strong and you had some really good bursts. Really build on this for bumps - blades for you girls!!!

Congrats again (from the politest bank party of the day!)

Really strong committed row - tidy and powerful. So we weren't expecting Emma to beat us, but as Harrie says - this is just something to push you to push on. Bring on Pembroke Regatta and bumps baby!
