You didn't seem to be doing that much work :)

Okay. So, 17 FaT men go to Life led by the inimitable Mr Walker, presumably many were quite well oiled. Where, may I ask, is the gossip? Honestly, I know that you're all upset that the girls didn't come with you but surely there was some carnage? Those of us who have to stay in and work need something to keep us going you know. If there really isn't any gossip then I suggest you all redeem yourselves sharpish and make some up.

Will someone explain to me how on Earth, when I did a search for all the photo files on my hard drive, these pictures of Simon Blackburn (and his Mum?) came up???

Good to see the word most commonly used to link to the website in the last month (see the "Monthly statistics" page) is rowing related.

A film crew arrived in Burrell's yesterday (don't know what they're filming, but it looks amateur-ish).
Find out what they're filming! And try and get yourself a part as an extra!!!

Today, they set the fire alarm off.

Twice.
Three times and counting...
by the peace has been shattered - Wed 12th Dec 2001, 9:48pm
Not a rowing story, but I found it amusing:

A film crew arrived in Burrell's yesterday (don't know what they're filming, but it looks amateur-ish). They're living in my block, and are generally being annoying. In particular, they are using a smoke machine in one of the rooms in the bottom of Butler House.

Today, they set the fire alarm off.

Twice.

The first time, everybody was gathered outside. Suddenly, one of them asked (in a genuinely suprised voice): "Was that us?!?"

The second time, whilst most people were leaving the building, I noticed one of them filming the smoke alarm. He was still filming when we re-enetered a few minutes later.

They also asked the porter (who was already pretty annoyed) to turn off the fire alarm for all of Butler House. He was not impressed...

Various people have tried doing web searches for "beeramid" as well.... on Google we come 2nd ;-)
First and Third towers over the efforts of the fellow from the University of Virginia...

Somebody reached our website the other day by searching for the two words "lillettes wings" on Google. Very odd. Rather bizarrely this does yield a result - but only one....

Hope the rest of the club can manage to follow our example.
Hope Guy can follow my example and cancel the whole thing and move it to April when it's warm and dry...

Well done to all crews who got through the first round of Uni IVs today.
Thank you. Hope the rest of the club can manage to follow our example.
by Good with cheese on - Sun 28th Oct 2001, 9:17pm
I've got an overwhelming number of things to do and my room smells of cauliflower. It's not ideal. Well done to all crews who got through the first round of Uni IVs today.

Don't tell me - you're going to have all the records on vinyl, and then play two at once and get their beats to match and then slowly switch from one to another. Or is that too traditional?
by KSS - Wed 24th Oct 2001, 6:36pm

Yep, that's the one. Actually, now that you come to mention it, it is quite good, isn't it ?
by jpd - Wed 24th Oct 2001, 7:06am
Jamiroquai is too slow JPD, cut it out.
Yes, you're right. But Dan W is doing the playlist and then I'm mixing it, so it's up to him really. I have no idea what the video to any of these songs looks like.
by Bowler hat - Tue 23rd Oct 2001, 9:28pm
Jamiroqui - Little L
Kylie Minogue - Can't Get You Out Of My Head
Madonna - Music
Ones, The - Flawless
Prodigy - Breathe
Supermen Lovers - Starlight
Don't know the Ones song, can someone hum it for me?

Well I have been on the college network all summer (i.e. probably as long as you have been viewing the website).

Anyway, this is getting anal and boring now. How about some bop songs? These sound good early on a Friday morning to me, and according to the archive haven't been in a bop before:

Berri - The Sunshine After The Rain
Dreadzone - Little Britain
Gala - Freed From Desire
Jamiroqui - Little L
Kylie Minogue - Can't Get You Out Of My Head
Madonna - Music
Ones, The - Flawless
Prodigy - Breathe
Supermen Lovers - Starlight

This is all boring banter. JPD and I are already wasting our time on the bop - any suggestions re. the playlist?

To me please.

This SA is fairly confused by all this. In what way have I been negligent?

Does this mean the captain is never going to pay any fines? Personally, I think he should be fined for being at work and spending the afternoon e-mailing instead ;-)

I should remind you that all fines can be waived at the discretion of the Captain. unless we rewrite the rules. Which we are going to do before they come into effect.

Coming through Immigration after the recent Lightweight trip to Taiwan, JW needed to renew his Visa. Apparently the woman there did not believe he was American and thought he sounded English. Hmmmm.....
