A cox for the 2nd Women by You know you want to, Chris! - Fri 13th Feb 2004, 12:47pm
Ode to Chris Pedder

Thou that hast more experience in steering a boat than God has in guiding the stars,
we beg thee, we plead with thee,
descend!
once more amongst the ranks of mortals to cox us.
In this our darkest hour when all have failed us,
it is but the halo of your glory that may lead us to the end of the tunnel.
Reliant we are,
in thy valiance we trust,
our hopes
and our lives
on the river Cam.

You know if it were me, I'd be far more persuaded by a Haiku...

Coxes are bollocks
They screw up outings most days
Give me a single

Coxes are funny
They sound like KITT, which is cool
Or was that just Earl?

John Earl is a yank
His voice and comments are crude
Silence is golden

John Earl now cycles
But everyones question is
Will he row the Lents?!!
by mjb - Fri 13th Feb 2004, 7:02pm
We have Andy Wong,
But no working coxboxes:
Bow Pair can't hear him.

Guys, it's really not about Heikus. Let's keep this in our cultural hemisphere.

Christopher Noster

Our Chris who art in Great Court,
hollowed thou art amongst 1st&3rd's fairest,
thy steering come,
thy call be done,
in the boathouse as on the river.
Give us our early morning outings
and forgive us our lateness at the catch
as we forgive you for coaching Selwyn.
And leave us not in our tribulations
but go up with us four times in Bumps.
For thine is the rudder
and the forsight
and the coxbox
for the rest of Lent term,
Amen.

PS: Hello Chris' friend from Oxford!

Oh if only the Twat
Could be so skinny and light
Would he row better?
