| I would like to point out that this is a rower's and not a cox's worst nightmare due to the fact that it is the cox's fault that they crashed, he should be watching where he's going and when the umpire yells stop, you should generally stop... The rower's are giving their all, not able to see what's going on just for the cox to screw it up for them! |

Reminds me a bit of the incident when the Blue Boat cox of a few years ago (2003?), Jim Omartian, somehow failed to spot the Harbour-master's launch - and hit it head on during a practice start in front of the media.
Bowman Wayne Pommen was so badly injured that he couldn't row in the boat race so had to be subbed last minute - and Cambridge went on the lose the race by just 1 foot... |
