yeah apparently the Downing server that hosts it is down. Gaypers is intending to sort it out sometime. I reckon we should just redirect people to our website instead.

Could the FaT server cope with handling the extra traffic that the CUCBC website would create ? Might it be a good idea to have it hosted here as I think Downing have screwed up something or other each of the past couple of summer holidays as well ?

As I recall, CUCBC traffic is routed via our server anyway. Obviously this isn't the same as requesting pages, but still...

I'd say it would cope with the load fine.

I don't think it would be a good thing to have it all shifted onto our machine though. The CUCBC webmaster can be from any college - which once JPD retires creates a headache. Also we are reliant on the good will of Trinity & our computing officers in allowing us to run it - is more reasonable to expect this if it is all college based material.

I would be up for a comedy temporary CUCBC home page though... ideas?!

How about a temporary redirection service to Fat.org, mentioning how useless dcbc are.

The only reason it doesn't matter that it has no content is that everything of importance is on this site ;)
