I love the way they think he'll do really well in the kayak. I bet he'll be crap! Though probably better than if he tried to scull down the Waimakariri....

I scrambling up and down a tiny part of that last year. Not sure if muscular bulk is really what you want when running up mountains. You entering, Tom???

Turns out he wasn't really that good at the kayak after all. Or the running bit.

He also seems to have been beaten by one of his previous crew mates, though I'm surprised the latter manages to continue coaching for the Swiss national squad now that he's moved to Christchurch.....

Neil (Copland) or Iain, be warned: ""Don't wear a kilt if you want to do the Coast to Coast unless you cover yourself in Vaseline" is the advice from Shirley Boys High teacher Iain Millar, who wore a kilt through the Two Day event as a fundraiser for the MRI unit at Christchurch Hospital. He's very relieved to have finished and "incredibly chafed", but will be back next year."
