Find out your personality type
http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-w...from Psychologist Chris, Tue 18th Dec, 12:51pm
A bit sad, but this is normally quite accurate and insightful. I reckon I will not be the only INTP type on this list (even though it's a very rare type on a national basis).

Indeed - I imagine us INTPs are probably disproportionately prevalent in the club.

Speak for yourself. I came out as an INFJ - some sort of extreme, happy-and-sad, introverted psycho-obsessive fruitcake.

Personally, I prefer the same 'quiz'which works out which Star Wars character you are...http://starwarsquiz.hypermart.net/

...although even there I normally emerge as C3PO.

Apparently I'm an ENFP - "the champion".

Hmmm, not yet however.

hmmm, ESTJ: protector guardian thingy. Not too keen on it saying that I judge people, though....
by content to be judgemental - Tue 18th Dec 2001, 7:01pm
ISTJ (Introverted, Sensing, Thinking, Judging) for me... pretty similar to Will.
Where does it tell you what the other letters mean, and can you see textural descriptions of other personality types?
by The Secretary - Wed 19th Dec 2001, 12:40am
Apparently I too am ISTJ. How dull to be a 'moderately expressed introvert'. However, I am also a 'very expressed judging personality'. Hmm.

INTJ, the description of which was spookily accurate - it's rather a shame that my personality (or lack of!) can be encapsulated in 4 letters. Bloody psychologists.
There must some correlation between these and "ideal seat in a boat" too :-) And as there are 16 personalities to 9 seats in a boat it seems as though some people just aren't cut out for it!

Not true at all. We all know that coxes have multiple personalities.

I'm also an INFJ (Introverted Intuitive Feeling Judging) but scored weakly on all 4 aspects of this - like many other things in my life, it appears I can't even commit to a personality!
by jpd - Wed 19th Dec 2001, 12:37pm
I'm also INTP. Apparently I have the personality of a structural engineer (my best paper last year was structures).

Don't read too much into the words that the letters stand for. Having studied this I can say that they actually represent more complex ideas.
Very roughly:

The I/E is about whether you draw strength from yourself or other people

The S/N (Sensing, iNtuition) is complex, but more to do with how you organise thoughts.

The T/F (thinking, feeling) is straightforward and about decision-making based on pure logic, or more adherence to emotions. (I Seem to recall getting nearly 100% T there myself, which would be of no surprise to anyone that knows me!)

The J/P (judging, perceiving) is complex and to do with decisiveness.

However, I find that the overall type descriptions are astonishly accurate (providing you got reasonable scores.)

Quite. Although the fact that you were filling in this survey and posting your comments at well past midnight suggests that it's an accurate description.
by the pretender - Wed 19th Dec 2001, 8:07pm
The fact that I was posting past midnight thus proving what an introvert I am only proves how fantastically accurate the test is. Perhaps I should add 'pedantic' to my list of attributes making me, rather interestingly, PISTJ.

Hmm.

INTJ - 'The Mastermind'
by slp - Thu 20th Dec 2001, 7:53pm
eNFj - 2% of the population destined to be teachers... you must be joking.

eNTp - I'm an inventor! Apparently I should be doing engineering ;->
