Honey Duan, who left Trinity at the end of last year, is in action at the Head of the Charles today. Honey is coxing the men's Harvard Varsity VIII, who are starting 12th in the Championship VIIIs division. A live webcast is available - Harvard are starting 12th in the Championship VIIIs, scheduled to start at 21:10 our time. CUBC are starting 2nd in the same division.

In actual fact, the men's Harvard Varsity VIII (including Honey) is going off 10th, racing as the Charles River Association. The crew starting 12th is the 2nd Varsity VIII.

Emboldened by Rich and Dan's endeavours, BPBC have decided to start this year's race on the wrong side of the Atlantic.

Or in some cases, the wrong side of the Pacific....

I was there! She was awesome. Here are a few blurry photos I took leaning over the Weeks footbridge at Harvard.

I watched CUBC from here as well, and they looked like they were being held up horrifically by the Princeton crew in front. They had caught said crew for 30s and were pulling level, but were pushed to the outside of the long bend and ended up behind again...

At least she didn't have to do this.

For those who are wondering what the fuss is about, here's Honey's profile.

A reality TV coxswain search? That could be extremely amusing.

I'd better make a quick comment on how the racing went. We finished 19th, which was disappointing. CUBC finished 9th which they were not too happy about either. After taking an awesome (even if I say so myself) Weeks and Anderson, we were forced onto the outside of the 180 degree bend by a Syracuse crew towards Eliot which lost us LOT of time. It was a shame as we had been steadily closing on BU in front. Maybe you'll see me on a reality TV show in China next... You never know!

Just out of interest, why do they do this? Is it like CUBC II being called Goldie?

It's so they can get more entries in. Something to do with politics and bending rules... A lot of the clubs do it, not just Harvard. Apparently. Although I don't really understand either.
