13th Jun '06May Bumps Racing Newsby mcp
The May Bumps run this week, from Wednesday to Saturday. Here on our website, we are running our traditional results services and our new bumps prediction game, BumpIT. Follow the links from the front page for all the info!

The Bumps are superb for spectating, so even if you aren't rowing it's well worth making the effort to get down to the river! Here are the division times:
Division Wed-Fri Sat
M 1 19:45 17:45
M 2 18:15 16:15
M 3 16:45 14:45
M 4 15:15 13:15
M 5 13:45 11:45
M 6 13:00 11:00
W 1 19:00 17:00
W 2 17:30 15:30
W 3 16:00 14:00
W 4 14:30 12:30
W 5 13:00 11:00
We have directions for how to get to the river on the site and also some tips on where to stand which can be found in our guide to the bumps - again follow the links from the front page!

On this thread on the message board will appear whatever news is posted from mobile phones during the week, and hopefully various other bits of news and banter as the racing unfolds.

We very much hope that you will enjoy the First and Third site during the Mays and that the mix of results, reports, pictures and predictions conveys something of the excitement of this truly fantastic event. And our thanks must go to all the members who put time in to update it with their accounts and pictures of the racing.

All the very best to everyone who is rowing, coxing or coaching - and of course especially to First and Third. Row hard.

Test message! Note also that there will be a brief test of some results at some point tonight, during which bumpit will not accept any changes.

Good luck to the 3rd men's VIII tomorrow, aiming for the 3rd eight headship (last gained in 1998, lost in 2001) - try not to take as long as the 1998 crew.

That strengthens our Michell Cup standing nicely ;-)

I must say these result update things are wicked. Being in an office rather than on the tow-path sucks, but it really brightens things up! Well done grads, I do hope somebody got a picture!! ;-)

Well done to the women for the re-row, but for the benefit of those of us further from the action, can we have some info (and pictures?) of what happened in W1 yesterday?

Wolfson 1st women didn't bump Caius II, according to an email we received and the message boards - contrary to what we had shown on our charts. This has been updated - which is why the BumpIT scores will have changed. Thank you to Patricia who pointed this out. Unfortunately not everyone's charts will work quite properly as they should in W2 in tomorrow's BumpIT, but I don't think it'll break it.

Bryn has secured another BumpIT win... by the narrowest of margins! Let's hope the t-shirt is big enough.
