According to radio commentary: FaT M1 pull away from Downing early on but Caius pull out a lead over FaT and all three row over.
by Mike - Wed 25th Feb 2004, 5:13pm
Apparently four lengths between Caius and FaT at finish and two lengths between FaT and Downing.
by Ingers - Wed 25th Feb 2004, 6:40pm
I was at Grassy and saw all three crews approx on distance at First Post. FaT took the 2 corners better than Caius and much better than Downing to exit Grassy perhaps 1.25 lengths behind Caius and 2 lengths ahead of Downing. You'll have to rely on other reports for post-Plough events.

New system for sending posts from mobiles

If you are member, send "fat post " followed by your message to 83248 to post to the message board.

This is a new system for posting to the message board from mobiles which we are trialling today.
You should be charged at your normal rate for UK text messages - much cheaper than the old system.

The usual rules re: having you mobile number in the members database still apply - if it all works ok we'll update the site with this info properly tonight.

The other advantage of this system is that it is usually almost instantaneous :-)

New SMS bumps updates

Anyone can try this, whether members or not, but please don't complain if it doesn't work today... - haven't done much testing yet!

To get or request bumps results, send e.g. fat m1 to 83248 for the men's 1st division. When the appropriate set of results are sent in, you should instantly receive a text message with a concise summary of the action!

If you were to send in fat m4 or fat w2 now, you should receive a reply immediately because they have raced already.

Unfortunately the text message you receive in reply will cost you 25p. This is as cheap as we could get it :-( Anyway, if you want to try it please let us know if it works or not!

Fat W1 make early ground on Pembroke - half a length off coming into First Post - then a canvas on Grassy and overlap down Plough reach. Distance is pulled out round Ditton corner, FaT push back at the Railings, but can't quite make the bump and row over a couple of feet behind.

Downing bump Caius on Ditton to take headship.

I see that the 4th men are now up 21 from the last 35 days of racing, haivng never been bumped in that time (OK, so there was one overbump down but that week they still finished level). No pressure as you chase those blades, guys...

Huge CONGRATS to FaT 2nd Women - an impressive week you should all be proud of. Not a bad way to start your bumps careers (and a bit of an improvement for Jenners from last year! ;-) ) - it's looking good for Mays, when we shall expect to see you storming up the rankings and shaking things up there too! Only lost one rower to rowing-related causes too - not bad! Great week, great rowing, great crew, as it turns out! Well done for getting it together and turning some heads. Ra ra, 1st and 3rd FaT birds!
