We got a coach with Maggie to Dorney in the morning, meeting at the very civilised time of 10am. Thanks to morning traffic and the driver's unfamiliarity with the roads  (a surprise U-turn) we arrived nearly 3 hours after we set out.

Building the boat was uneventful and we got on the water with just enough time to join the queue of boats waiting to race without any real warmup.
We weren't slow in the time trial, (it being the fastest we'd ever gone), how much of that is due to the lack of Grassy corner I will leave to the reader's interpretation. However, once the results came it we discovered we had only made the F final.

So had Maggie, Uni of Surrey (who beat us to the penant in HoRR), QUB & Crabtree including  a FaT alum (Reggie.)

Our sets were then set on the final to be in.

Final
8th in F final
Time: 6:22
This race was not quite so good, we got off to a much slower start than the time trial but were staying in the race for the 1st 1km. After that things started to go wrong and boats were taking seats left and right. (Not centre we weren't taking seat off ourselves.)

We eventually finished last, a crushing defeat which really showed us we are not remotely where we need to be, we are still racing regattas like a head race. Although there is still much speed to come before the term is out.
