W2's first race as a new crew! A strong paddle up in the sun with some of our best piecing yet... followed by some slightly dubious racing back down in the rain. The time reflects the row well - we hoped for better, definitely have some things to be pleased with.
I am reliably informed by our Dutch correspondents that rain is good for breaking water surface tension. I am also reliably informed by my hands that rain makes everything slippy and not good. But rest assured, we will be back with a race plan, a target split, and dry handles. Then, we will be unstoppable!
