1st men's VIII, O.VIIIs.Band 2

1st in category, 3rd college VIII

Nothing beats killing yourself over 2k, freezing your ass off, killing yourself over another 2k, and then having to wait 24 hours for City to finally declare it a draw because they'd already handed pots to the 2nd place (by one second) crew (Sam Pearson)

Isaac was down and out (illness again) so we had Scott in as a replacement. (Thankfully M2 weren't racing today.)

We had a decent first leg but undercooked it slightly and had a wobble in the wash on the Reach. The second leg was tackled with some better mentality but our technique isn't yet where we could keep the speed going.

Not a bad result in the end (first in band two by 1 second and third college VIII). We beat Maggie's first VIII for the first time in quite a while too. We know what we need to do and are going to make big strides ahead of Newnham Head.
