Cambridge Autumn Head
Sat 11th October
2,600m head race upstream on the River Cam organised by Rob Roy Boat Club
Near the start of Michaelmas term this is an early barometer of a crew's speed for Fairbairns or more a test of the captain's organisation in getting a decent boat out so soon after term starts. Also, an opportunity to try out a IV in preparation for Uni IVs.

University IVs
Tue 28th - Fri 31st October
A knockout competition for Cambridge College IVs over 2000m.
The University fours competition. Usually used as a prelude to Fairbairns.

M1(a) (1st division): Beat M1b by 14 seconds in the quarter finals and Lost to Pembroke by 13 seconds in the semi finals
1st women's IV (1st division): Lost to Maggie by 2 seconds in the quarter finals
M1(b) (1st division): Lost to M1a by 14 seconds in the quarter finals
2nd women's IV (2nd division): Lost to Pembroke II by 28 seconds in the semi finals
M2 (2nd division): Lost to Maggie II by 16 seconds in the semi finals

Qergs
Sun 2nd November
An 8x500m erg relay, mainly for novices.
A bit of fun and usually a novice's first competition. Fastest three crews from each heat make the final.

1st men's novice VIII (1st division): 5th in heat in the heats
1st women's novice VIII (1st division): 2nd in heat in the heats and 4th in final in the final
2nd men's novice VIII (Lower division): 4th in heat in the heats
3rd men's novice VIII (Lower division): 3rd in heat in the heats and 4th in Lower final in the final

Cambridge Winter Head
Sat 8th November
A timed head race over 2500m, from the Motorway bridge to the (no longer extant) Penny Ferry pub.
For senior crews this is the final race preparation for Fairbairns and can be a valuable form guide; for a few novice crews, a chance to try out racing before the upcoming Clare Novice Regatta.

1st men's novice VIII (NM1 Division): Beat Caius I in the 1st round and Lost to Jesus I in the quarter finals
1st women's novice VIII (NW1 Division): Raced 4 rounds: Beat Clare Hall I in the plate final
2nd men's novice VIII (NM2 Division): Raced 4 rounds: Lost to Robinson I in the final
2nd women's novice VIII (M3/W3 Division): Lost to Hughes II in the 1st round and Beat Downing II in the 2nd round

Clare Novice Regatta
Sat 29th November
A side-by-side knock out regatta for Cambridge College novice VIIIs.
With just a week before Novice Fairbairns, the Clare Novices' offer all-important race practice and exciting side by side racing. Most college novice VIIIs enter.

1st men's novice VIII (Men's Cup): Beat Maggie by 1 length in the 1st round and Lost to Tit Hall easily in the 2nd round
1st women's novice VIII (Women's Cup): Raced 5 rounds: Lost to Jesus in the final
2nd men's novice VIII (Men's Cup): Lost to Christs by 1/2 length in the 2nd round
2nd women's novice VIII (Women's Plate): Raced 3 rounds: Lost to Caius II by 3/2 lengths in the semi finals
3rd men's novice VIII (Men's Plate): Raced 3 rounds: Lost to Caius II by 3/4 length in the semi finals

Novice Fairbairn Cup
Thu 4th December
A 2700m timed head race on the Cam for Cambridge College novice VIIIs.
The main focus for Michaelmas term for all novice crews at Cambridge University.

2nd men's novice VIII (2nd division): Fastest NM2, 7th overall
3rd men's novice VIII (2nd division): Fastest NM3, 2nd NM2, 13th overall

Fairbairn Cup
Fri 5th December
A 4300m timed head race on the Cam for VIIIs
The main focus of Michaelmas term for all Cambridge college senior crews.

Christmas Head
Sat 6th December
Head race from the Pike and Eel to Goldie Boathouse
Organised by the city boat club, the Christmas head is a fancy dress race from the Pike and Eel to Goldie Boathouse. A week after the end of term, few college crews enter.
