Lent Bumps Getting-on Race

Did not get on
Time: 11:26.4
Obviously disappointing to not get on, but it was a decent row. The quality of paddling in the crew is high, but more power application will be needed in future, along with more time spent at racing rates (this being our fault entirely). This shows particularly in the difference between r30-32 and r18-20, where the deterioration is far more marked than would usually be expected. However the time spent on dealing with technical issues rather than short term race speed gives me confidence that we have an excellent platform to move on to next term, do some high rate work, and develop a fast W3, and additionally some W2 and W1 rowers for the next couple of years. (Swords)
As Swords said, a disappointing result, but definitely not a disappointing row. The race was strong and committed, with some very good pushes.

I've said this already, but it's worth repeating. I am so proud of how far all of you have come this term. Thank you for the commitment, enthusiasm, and flexibility you have all displayed. I'm sorry that you won't be able to row bumps this week, but I hope you still enjoy the excitement! And see you on the river again soon! :) (Katie)
