We weren't expecting to do very well, having had only 4 practice outings beforehand. However, this was really quite a pleasing row, all things considered. The steering wasn't great, but we managed only to crash once, as well as overtaking a sculler from Nines, coming in only one second slower than the Clare mixed double who started just behind us, and beating several men's doubles. Not the prettiest of sights, but a reasonably respectable time - just wait till we learn how to scull...! (Erica)
