1st men's VIII, 1st division

3rd overall, 3rd of 14 colleges
Time: 18:55
Not exactly sure about the time but I think that is close. Both legs were over 9min anyway.

We struggled a bit going downstream, never really got into a rhythm. It started much better coming back up with a solid, relaxed rhythm and quite a bit of cover. We unfortunately fell apart badly into the head wind on long reach and it seems we posted quite a slow time for the leg overall. Still if we can replicate the rowing in the early stages for a little longer... (Dan)

1st women's VIII, Women's Lents 1

Joint 6th of 11 colleges, 6th of 19 women's VIIIs
Time: 21:13
Wasn't the best of races we have done and the end of a week of sometimes very rocky outings... The second half of the second leg was considerably more enjoyable and powerful.

We seemed to finally find our rhythm on the Reach and had a prolonged wind/w*** for the fininsh as we overtook Newnham II (12 lengths in total...) in an effort reminiscent to our more glamourous racing moments last term.

6th isn't great, but certainly not a bad result. Needless to say the crews ahead are nowhere near us in Bumps, so I am beating myself up a bit needlessly here ;) The power is still there, we just need to find our grace... xxx (Pia)

2nd women's VIII, Lower VIIIs

19th of 19 women's VIIIs
Time: 25:13
The first leg felt pretty good, loads better than our race/first_outing_since_bumps last week. I hope the times reflect that.
second leg, we kept it together well. A good lift after the railway bridge to the finish, when we were apparently closing on the men's double in front! (never mind the fact they overtook us at the bottom of the reach...shhh!!)
Oh yes, and we had much fun marshalling ;) (Dami)
