A 1800m (normally 2700m) timed head race on the Cam for Cambridge College novice VIIIs. The distance was reduced this year due to high wind speeds.

2nd men's novice VIII, 1st division

This was a very impressive result; finishing just 12 seconds off NM1 is a huge achievement, especially with Luca's broken seat only allowing him to move only between front-stops and half-slide. This has capped off an excellent term of rowing for NM2, who have placed 1st, 2nd, and 2nd in their three events. (K. Ergene)

I think no other novice crew this term captures the word "brave" quite as well - NM2 threw absolutely everything right from the beginning, hitting rate 38 off the start and only finished 12 seconds behind NM1 despite their technical difficulties - congratulations on the result guys! (D. Lee)
