Mich Term 2017

Cambridge Autumn Head
Sat 14th October
A 2600m head race upstream, organised by Rob Roy, from the A14 road bridge to the top finish at Chesterton footbridge.
The Autumn Head is the first race of the term on the Cam. Attracting many town and college crews it is a useful form guide for the upcoming University IVs.

University IVs
Tue 24th - Fri 27th October
A knockout competition for Cambridge College IVs over 2000m.
The University fours competition. Usually used as a prelude to Fairbairns.

Light IV (Light IVs): Lost to Downing M1 and Clare M1 in the final
1st women's IV (1st division): Lost to Downing W1 by 12s in the quarter finals
2nd men's IV (1st division): Lost to Fitzwilliam M1 in the quarter finals
2nd women's IV (2nd Coxed Four): Lost to LMBC W2 by 1.53s in the semi finals
3rd men's IV (2nd Coxed Four): Lost to King's M3 in the quarter finals

Queens' Novice Ergo Competition
Sat 11th November
A 500m team ergo competition for Novice & Senior VIIIs.
The first taste of competition for the novice squads, most of the college boat clubs enter their novice crews in to this fun event.

Emma Sprints
Sun 19th November
500m up the reach. Fancy dress and bribery are recommended!
A light-hearted knock-out regatta for novice VIIIs.

1st men's novice VIII (Division 1): Lost to Clare NM1 in the 1st round and Lost to Wolfson NM1 in the 2nd round
1st women's novice VIII (Division 1): Lost to LMBC NW1 in the 1st round and Beat Trinity Hall NW1 in the 2nd round
2nd men's novice VIII (Division 2): Raced 4 rounds: Beat Darwin NM1 in the final
2nd women's novice VIII (Division 2): Lost to Sidney Sussex NW2 in the 1st round and Beat Lucy Cavendish NW2 in the 2nd round
3rd men's novice VIII (M3/W3 Division): Lost to Trinity Hall NM2 in the 1st round and Beat Robinson NM2 in the 2nd round
3rd women's novice VIII (M3/W3 Division): Lost to Medwards NW4 in the 1st round and Lost to Sidney Sussex NW3 in the 2nd round

Clare Novice Regatta
Sat 25th November
A side-by-side knock out regatta for Cambridge College novice (beginner) VIIIs
With just a week before Novice Fairbairns, the "Clare Novices" offer all-important race practice and exciting side by side racing. Most college novice VIIIs enter.

1st men's novice VIII (Cup): Raced 3 rounds: Lost to St.Catherine's I by 1/2 length in the semi finals
1st women's novice VIII (Cup): Raced 4 rounds: Lost to LMBC I by 1 length in the semi finals
2nd men's novice VIII (Plate): Beat Trinity Hall NM1 easily in the 2nd round and Lost to Caius NM1 in the quarter finals
2nd women's novice VIII (Plate): Raced 3 rounds: Beat Pembroke NW2 by 2 length in the final
3rd men's novice VIII (Plate): Lost to Christs NM2 by 1 length in the 1st round
3rd women's novice VIII (Plate): Raced 3 rounds: Lost to First and Third II in the semi finals

Novice Fairbairn Cup
Thu 30th November
A 2700m timed head race on the Cam for Cambridge College novice VIIIs
The main focus for Michaelmas term for all novice crews at Cambridge University.

Fairbairn Cup
Fri 1st December
A 4300m timed head race on the Cam for VIIIs
The main focus of Michaelmas term for all Cambridge college senior crews.
