Robinson Head

A timed head race over 2200m - from Little Bridge to Peter's Posts
The last timed head race on the Cam before Lents - and a useful form guide with many college boats competing.

Pembroke Regatta
Sat 18th February
A side-by-side knock out regatta on the reach, over 1100m
An event for college crews run in 3 divisions. For many crews, the last race practice before the bumps, and a popular event.

1st men's VIII (1st division): Beat Magdalene I by 3 lengths in the 1st round and Lost to Downing I by 3/4 of a length in the quarter finals
1st women's VIII (1st division): Raced 4 rounds: Lost to Christ's I by 1 1/4 Length in the semi finals
2nd men's VIII (2nd division): Raced 3 rounds: Lost to Downing II by 2 lengths in the quarter finals
2nd women's VIII (2nd division): Beat King's II Easily in the 1st round and Lost to Emmanuel II by 3 Lengths in the 2nd round
3rd men's VIII (3rd division): Raced 5 rounds: Lost to Lady Margaret III by 1/2 Length in the final
4th men's VIII (3rd division): Beat Jesus III easily in the 1st round and Lost to Girton III by 1/2 a length in the 2nd round
5th men's VIII (3rd division): Lost to Caius M3 easily in the 1st round

Lent Bumps Getting-on Race
Fri 24th February
The 2000m qualifying race for the Lent Bumps
The Lent Bumps are the focus of the term for college rowing, but only those boats finishing higher than 18th from the bottom of last year's races are automatically entered. All other crews must compete for the 18 places available.

Tue 28th February - Sat 3rd March
The famous Cambridge University Bumps on the River Cam
The focus of the year so far. The Lent Bumps are smaller and less prestigious than the May Bumps, but nevertheless involve 69 men's and 52 women's crews.

Cardinal's Regatta
Thu 15th March
"a regatta unlike any other..."
A fun post bumps regatta for mixed crews, with head starts for crews in fancy dress and widescale bribery of marshalls and race officials...!

FaT Catz Coxes' VIII (Fancy Dress): Lost to Emma III by somewhere between 3 and 5 lengths only in the 1st round

Head of the River Race
Sat 17th March
A huge head race on the Tideway (tidal river Thames) over the University Boat Race course
The largest annual VIIIs head race in the country, attracting most rowing clubs and many University and College crews. The course is 4 1/2 miles, from Mortlake to Putney.
